Iraq, Ad Duluiyah - Ad Duluiyah is a city of about 50,000 people and 60 miles north of Baghdad. Sometimes it seems that all of the best and worst of life in post-major conflict Iraq can be found in Ad-Duluiyah. The town is made up of crumbling mud, brick and concrete buildings, yet some of these buildings are being freshly painted and repaired. There are men and women who will smile and wave as U.S. soldiers pass, and others who turn their backs or glare. There are children who scream and cheer with delight when they see the MPs' humvees driving towards them, and others who spit, give a thumbs down sign or throw rocks. And there is the enemy. The enemy who attacks day or night, then vanishes into the maze of buildings, narrow alleys and shadows.
